Hungarian response to criticism concerning service for the homeless

No one may sustain disadvantage on account of origin in Hungary

The Hungarian Government is committed to ensuring that no one in Hungary should sustain any disadvantage on account of their origin, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Public Administration and Justice Tibor Navracsics reiterated in Washington to Senator Ben Cardin, Co-Chairman of the US Helsinki Commission. The Minister gave an account of the meetings he held during his three-day visit to Washington on Wednesday.

Government decides on establishment of Roma Affairs Council

At a meeting on 29 January, the Government decided on the establishment of a Roma Affairs Council, bringing the issue of social inclusion to a higher level. The main tasks of the Council will be the elaboration of proposals regarding social inclusion and Roma affairs policy strategy, and the monitoring of implementation.

More than a hundred human traffickers were arrested in an international operation against illegal migration

Joint action was held on Tuesday in four European countries to fight illegal migration. A total of 103 human traffickers were arrested in the operation, 10 of them in Hungary - announced the Director General for Criminal Affairs of the National Police Force, at a Budapest press conference.

Hungary offers 260,000 dollars to help Syrians in need

Hungary’s Defence Sector Has Received a Favorable International Placing

Corruption risks are moderate in Hungary’s defence sector – this is the result of a survey conducted by the London office of Transparency International, which was published after the analysis of the armed forces in 82 countries. Only nine countries are placed higher than Hungary in the Government Defence Anti-Corruption Index, and our country is in the moderate band together with other 16 nations.
