The Ministry of National Development has awarded a subsidy of HUF 3bn for the financing of the applications of the Green Investment Scheme Panel Programme II.
"Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn did not simply unveil the brutality of the communist terror, but became the chronicler of millions of victims, including hundreds of thousands of Hungarians, who were not given the opportunity to tell their story", Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said at the opening of the exhibition entitled „A Russian Patriot – Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn (1918-2008)" in Budapest’s House of Terror Museum.
Tourism experts want to turn focus on the fact that one of the most important instruments and resources of tourism is water, Deputy CEO of Hungarian Tourism Ltd Gergely Horváth said at the press conference organized to commemorate the event. Gergely Horváth stressed that this is the third year that the World Tourism Day is celebrated in Hungary and this year’s motto also aims to raise awareness in environmental issues as the development of tourism has been an increasing burden on the environment.
Hungary’s position is that the United Nations’ presence will be needed on the long term in Afghanistan, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Political Director Szabolcs Takács, at the meeting of the International Contact Group on Afghanistan and Pakistan in New York City. He stated that the reason for this is that among others the global organization continues to play an important confidence building role in the Afghan society.

The Water Strategy has been completed and may soon be submitted to the Government, the Ministry of Rural Development's Deputy State Secretary for Water announced at the OMÉK agriculture fair. The social debate on the Strategy, during the course of which over 1300 comments and suggestions were submitted, closed in July. The Ministry has processed the recommendations and incorporated a significant number of them into the Strategy.

At the meeting of the Hungarian-Russian Joint Economic Committee on Wednesday in Budapest, it was agreed that the agriculture ministries of the two countries would begin preparations for the establishment of joint enterprises in order to increase agricultural trade, State Secretary for Foreign Affairs and External Economic Relations of the Prime Minister’s Office Péter Szijjártó said at the press conference following the meeting.
