President of the Republic János Áder appointed Attila Imre Horváth Minister of State for Development and Climate Policy and Key Public Services of the Ministry of National Development as from 15 July, 2013.
Attila Imre Horváth graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Budapest University of Technology and Economics in 2001. After his graduation, he held senior offices in companies specialised in renewable energy technologies. From September 2012, he performed the duties of Deputy State Secretary for Green Economy, Climate Policy and Key Public Services of the Ministry.
In his new function, the Minister of State is responsible for the management of development target appropriations based on non-EU sources, the development of the green economy (with special respect to the fields of energy efficiency and renewable energy) as well as for the regulation of regional development, climate policy and certain public services (water utilities, waste pricing policy).
The Office of Minister of State previously known as Office of Minister of State for Climate and Energy Affairs is to operate as Office of Minister of State for Energy Affairs in future, similarly under Minister of State for Energy Affairs Pál Kovács.
