A cooperation agreement aimed at furthering the employment of long-term unemployed and disadvantaged Roma citizens has been signed between the President of the National Roma Self-Government (ORÖ) Flórián Farkas and Government Commissioner for major investments in Budapest Balázs Fürjes.

Mr. Fürjes stated that according to the agreement, long-term unemployed Roma people will be offered employment during the implementation of major projects in Budapest. This will also be a factor in the future during the adjudication of public tenders and both the ORÖ and regional Employment Offices will participate in the coordination activities. A currently ongoing project, the demolition of the Ludovika Campus, will serve as a model program and its best practices will be implemented in the future. The project employs 76 disadvantaged people, two-thirds of whom are Roma.
